Simon Gibbs is a legal advisor to Claims Funding Australia, the litigation funding arm and wholly owned subsidiary of Maurice Blackburn. He is a Senior Associate based in Maurice Blackburn’s Sydney office.
He holds a BA in socio-legal studies and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Government from Sydney University and a Juris Doctor (with Honours) from the University of NSW.
Simon has more than 12 years' experience with Maurice Blackburn and has worked on several class actions and significant commercial litigation in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada.
He has litigated claims that have recovered in excess of $690 million for claimants. Simon has worked on significant policy reform projects in relation to class actions and litigation funding reforms in Australia and New Zealand and has published peer-reviewed literature and contributed to law review textbooks on these subjects.
